OVERVIEW

This section provides for the remuneration of the Commissioner or acting Commissioner.

SECTION REFERENCE

40     (1)   A commissioner appointed under section 37(1)  or section 39(1) is entitled

         (a)  to be paid, out of the consolidated revenue fund, a salary equal to the salary paid to the chief judge of the Provincial Court, and

         (b)  to be reimbursed for reasonable travelling and out of pocket expenses personally incurred in performing the duties of the office.

         (2)  The Lieutenant Governor in Council may order that the Pension (Public Service) Act applies to the commissioner.

SUMMARY

This section provides for the remuneration of the Commissioner or acting Commissioner.  This section does not contain any policy or procedural information as the Commissioner as an Officer of the Legislature is governed by the Legislative Assembly, with regard to remuneration policy and procedure.
