The three key ASD support functions provided by the
Business Development Branch are intended to help
government identify, review and approve potential ASD
projects, and provide clients with a business/financial
point of view. Opportunity Identification: is
all about linkages within government. Working through
the central agencies and client ministries as appropriate, we work to
maintain relationships throughout the IM/IT1
community across government to ensure that ideas that
have the potential to become an ASD initiatives are
highlighted, and reviewed as quickly as possible.
Business Case Development: New project
proposals come in all shapes and sizes, from back of the
napkin ideas to full-blown business cases. In order to
provide a quality review, we need to ensure there is
enough information in your proposal to support a sound
decision. If you need assistance building your IM/IT
business case, we can assist clients with the
development of conceptual plans (for projects over $50
million), business cases and other supporting
documentation.
Proposal Review: The review process supports our dual
mandate; for proposals with a scope of $20 million and
over, we will work through your proposal to see if it
has the potential to be a new ASD initiative. For
projects under $20 million, we will run a quick check to
see if it can be added in to one of our existing deals.
