ARCS 2007 Edition Version 1.5
- Includes a revised Section 5, Human Resource Management
(see Section 5 Amendment Summary).
- Includes new base retentions of CY, FY, or SO for those active retention
periods that did not have a base retention designation

- Includes a standardized non-OPR retention and disposition of SO,

ARCS 2001 Edition Version 1.3 July 30, 2001
- The 2001 edition of ARCS On-line includes all changes approved
by the Legislative Assembly in March 2001.
- Includes a summary of
1996, 1998 and
2001 amendments.
- Appendices A to F and Appendix H have been removed, Appendix G has
been revised as a new Appendix A entitled "Standard Coding System", which
provides links to BC ministry and local government codes. Links to other
web sites provide lists of federal agencies, educational institutions, school
districts and provincial statutes from which file codes may be created.
- A revised How to Use ARCS section now incorporates information
from the former Introduction and Guidelines for ARCS section.
- Includes the special government-wide ongoing records schedule for
Year 2000 (Y2K) project documentation and
test data.
- Includes minor editorial corrections such as typographical errors,
column headers, etc.

ARCS 97 Edition Version (1.0) July 29, 1998
- ARCS On-line - Version (1.0) has increased functionality
through more extensive hyperlinking. All cross-reference notes on primary pages
are now hyperlinks, as are any references to specific appendices, to another
primary from within a Notes field, or from see also notes within the glossary.
- All appendices, except for Federal Statutes, have been added and are
up to date.
- Agency names, phone numbers etc. that were out of date in the
hardcopy manual have been updated.
- ARCS On-line benefits from on-line searching through its full
text retrieval search engine. However, some keywords may have only existed in
the hard copy index and not in the relevant primary, so an "Add
ARCS
Cross-reference" option has been added to the hyperlinks at the bottom of each
page. This link will take the users to a form where they can submit their
suggested additional cross-references to BC Archives for review by the
ARCS Review Committee. Updates will occur on a regular basis.
- The A/SA/FD codes have been added at the top of the appropriate
columns for OPR and non-OPR.
- Improved instructions through the addition of a simple "About ARCS" page that provides new users a
quick outline or overview of what ARCS is all about.
- An
MRO contact list with
email addresses is also included in ARCS On-line.
- ARCS On-line is available for
downloading in other
electronic formats, for both stand-alone viewing and printing.
